French Onion + A Film

My favorite fall time soup has always been french onion. The hot steamy onion broth, the soft soup-soaked seasoned croutons topped with lightly browned and bubbling slice of gruyere.

On a gloomy day like today, I thought I'd make up a crock for myself and put on one of my favorite Sofia Coopla films, Lost In Translation. Below is a recipe I found for the soup.

  1. OHHH how I want to love this soup. But I can't eat it without getting the worst heartburn in the world. It's the only food that does this to me, it's so odd. But, I love everything in it.... For some reason, the combination of onions and cheese make me sick. :(

  2. Ohh no! I hope this never happens to me. Maybe it's all that cheese- our bodies are probably not meant to have so much of a good thing, lol. Have you ever tried Panera Bread's french onion? They put about a third of the cheese in there, and it's just as delicious too :).
