I fell in love with the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower about 8 years ago, give or take. Once I found out they were coming out with a motion picture based on the book I was thrilled, even more so when I heard Emma Watson would be playing Sam.
Last night my friend Liz and I got a chance to see a prescreening. She'd never read the book, but knew its premiss and was looking forward to seeing the movie as well. We got there an hour and a half early, grabbed a bag of popcorn and twizzlers and sat on the ground until they started letting us in the theatre. I was really excited, but skeptical as to how it'd compare to the book. Of course they can never fit everything from the book into a 90+ minute movie, but they got all of the important stuff down. I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would and couldn't help but get teary-eyed at a few parts.
To anyone who was a fan and a lover of the book, I'd definitely recommend the movie!
