From France To Spain

Soon after celebrating Christmas morning with my family I left for the airport with passport in hand, anticipating the lengthy flight to France ahead. As I glance at the seat number printed on my boarding pass, a woman approaches me and asks if I'm Renee. I'm still not exactly sure what had happened but somehow they gave my original seat away resulting in my being bumped up to first class, which I took as some sort of Christmas Day miracle! I was served a delicious five course meal and complimentary champagne and wine throughout the entire flight, a pleasant surprise from what I had originally expected. I landed at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris early the following morning, where my friend Andrea patiently awaited my arrival. Our friend Claire would be flying in the day after, and in the meantime we spent the afternoon exploring the city together.

After visiting the major landmarks and monuments, we did a bit of window shopping prior to grabbing a bite at this quaint little french restaurant. We ended up sharing a savory crepe filled with smoked salmon, lettuce, tomato and an egg followed by an equally delicious carmel dessert one. We then washed everything down with a sugared cup of cappuccino. I had a difficult time heading back to our hostel being completely enraptured with my surroundings, though I was pretty exhausted from the long flight and our daytime explorations.

The above photographs were taken either in Paris or Bourges, France.

Since I'll be spending a couple of weeks in France, my blog will be the least of my worries until I'm back. Wishing everyone a lovely break, non the less.

Street Style: Paris, France

In light of my upcoming trip to France and Spaine, I thought I'd post some European fashion inspiration and photography from Scott Schuman's, The Sartorialist. I've read that the woman dress in a more feminine way, which I find very endearing.

Passport To Paris

As you may remember, I've been planning on taking a trip to France this upcoming winter break. I finally booked my ticket and am beyond thrilled for the holidays to get here. Not only will this be my first year of not having to work on New Year's Eve but I will be spending the New Year in France, non the less.

I'll be staying with my friend Andrea, who recently moved to Bourge, France and is living there for the next year to teach English. She informed that Bourge is known for their white wine and goat cheese, or chèvre, and I can't wait to try it all.

As I'm still waiting for my passport to arrive, I've been looking to buy a new cover for it and found these from the lifestyle blog, A Piece of Toast.

One Weekend, Two Graduations

My mom, dad, & I

My little sister, Catie

This past weekend, my younger sister & I both had our graduation ceremonies. I was really happy my dad came home from San Diego, CA to watch us walk. I missed him a lot, and it's always nice when he's able to visit. I just hope I'll be able to visit him in Cali soon. My dad bought my sister, Catie, a new Mac Book (as he did for all of us when we graduated hs,) and when he asked what I wanted, I was quite surprised because I hadn't been expecting a gift. I really couldn't think of anything I particularly wanted, so I told him it wasn't necessary. Since he insisted, after thinking about it for a while, I decided that what I needed most was a new passport. I'm planning on going to France and the end of this year, or the beginning of next year, so I'll be needed one anyway. Just lots more saving up to go!
